TRS Range Services (TRS) was brought on this project by the Olathe Police Department to design and construct a 200 yard range, a 50 yard qualification range, and a 50 yard combat range, all to be used in training of law enforcement agents. Despite experiencing many unworkable days during the wet season, TRS has successfully worked with the client to complete this project on schedule and within budget.
The contracted scope of work included:
- Granular rubber bullet trap
- provides complete lane coverage and is rated for pistol, shotgun, and rifle calibers up to .50 BMG
- Ballistic concrete walls
- 20 feet high – across the primary impact berm
- 10 feet high – to separate each range from one another
- Integrated storm water filtration system
- installed at base of bullet traps
- connects to existing storm water infrastructure
- captures and treats surface runoff, filtering lead particulates before discharge into the site’s drainage network
